Automatic toll collection with an on-board device is one of the varieties of the electronic toll collection system in Bulgaria. This technology allows for the automatic charging of vehicles when passing through paid sections of the road network without the need for physical contact or stopping at toll stations.
How does the on-board automatic toll device work?
The driver installs the on-board device in the vehicle, usually on the windshield or in another visible location in the vehicle. The device is connected to the electronic toll collection system for toll road sections.
Before starting to use the service, the driver must register in the system and connect the on-board device to his electronic account.
When the vehicle is moving on a paid section of the road network, the on-board device automatically records its passage through a toll point using the relevant technologies used by the toll system in Bulgaria.
